地理信息科學與技術全國重點實驗室/中國科學院地理資源所研究員、中國科學院大學時空統計學首席教授、中國地理學會地理模型與地理信息分析委員會主任、中國GIS協會理論方法委員會主任(2004-2011);空間統計學國際旗艦期刊Spatial Statistics、IJGIS等期刊副主編、編委,Maria Curie Fellowship,Elsevier中國高被引學者、全球高被引學者,發表SCI/SSCI論文250篇,包括Lancet Infectious Diseases、Lancet Planetary Health、NC,GIS國際旗艦期刊IJGIS最高被引論文, CSCD所有學科最高被引論文,生態指標國際頂刊Ecological Indicator最高被引論文。王勁峰原創了空間分異度量與歸因地理探測器模型,開拓了數據分析的黃金譜段:地理探測器已被70多國學者的近萬篇論文使用其中許多發表在專業與綜合國際學術頂刊(www.geodetector.cn)。
