肖向明，美國(guó)俄克拉荷馬大學(xué)(University of Oklahoma)大氣與地理學(xué)院教授，地球觀測(cè)與建模室主任。《Ecological Applications》，《EcoHealth》等雜志編輯。研究領(lǐng)域包括土地利用與土地覆蓋變化，碳循環(huán)，傳染病生態(tài)環(huán)境分析。已發(fā)表論文和著作120余篇。

National space agencies and private companies have been rapidly expanding the Earth observation capacities and provide image data at relatively low cost or free to the public. Over the next few years, number of smartphones in the world will reach 1 billion, and most of them are equipped with GPS and good quality cameras. High speed Internet, cloud storage and computing, and web technology are changing the way how data are stored, shared and analyzed. There are many opportunities and challenges in development of community- and citizen remote sensing over this decade. This lecture will introduce our initial effort in community- and citizen remote sensing, including Global Geo-Referenced Field Photo Library (
