Recently, the atlas of changes of administrative divisions in the People's Republic of China (1980-2017), compiled by Yang yaping, a senior engineer at the institute of geographical sciences and resources of the Chinese academy of sciences, was funded by the national publication fund of 2019.
The national publishing foundation was established in 2007. It is the third special fund established in the name of the state, after the national social science foundation and the national natural science foundation.
The change atlas of administrative divisions of the People's Republic of China (1980-2017) is a thematic atlas with the change of administrative divisions since China's reform and opening up as the theme, which systematically summarizes the changes of administrative divisions above the county level in China from 1980 to 2017.Will be nearly 40 years since the reform and opening in China the administrative region of heavy and complicated changes with map displayed visually, comprehensive, system, intuitively reduction of the administrative division evolution, as to optimize the geographical spatial layout of the macro authoritative reference, also for scientific research, social management, economic development in areas such as work provides the basis.

In the same year, it won the silver award of "pei xiu award for excellent map works" issued by the Chinese society of surveying and mapping, and the fourth Chinese publishing government-printing and reproduction award.
