　　The 13th international conference on spatial information accuracy assessment of natural resources and environmental sciences was held in Beijing from May 21 to 25.The conference was sponsored by the state key laboratory of resource and environmental information system, institute of geographical sciences and resources, Chinese academy of sciences, northwest institute of ecological and environmental resources, Chinese academy of sciences, wageningen university, the Netherlands, and international association for the evaluation of spatial information accuracy.

　　Since 1994, the international association for the evaluation and research of spatial information accuracy has organized an international conference on the evaluation of spatial information accuracy every two years to exchange and discuss the theoretical development and practical application of spatial information uncertainty in earth science.The conference has attracted the attention of many scholars and research institutions at home and abroad, and 282 researchers and students from 8 countries and regions have registered to attend.The general assembly invited five international experts in the four fields of spatial mapping, spatial modelling, spatial inference and spatial statistics for a one-day pre-conference training session.They are internationally renowned statistician Dr Pierre Goovaerts, Dutch digital soil mapping expert Dr Tom Hengl, state university of New York professor Steve Stehman, and university of Leeds Dr Alexis Comber and Paul Harris.More than 140 students and young scholars from home and abroad participated in the training.In the course of training, the teaching experts help students quickly master the core knowledge and skills of the course through the two ways of course explanation and practical operation.
